I sometimes also use topaz denoise if the clip I’m using is really grainy, but I try not to, mostly because it slows down the whole process so much lmfaoĪnd... that’s basically it. My settings for that change regularly, but these are the ones I use quite often: The last filter I’m using is topaz clean ( filter -> topaz labs -> topaz clean 3). (just make sure you’re not making it too bright here) This will give it a faint glowing effect, which will make it look softer overall. I normally use an opacity around 15-25%, depending on how bright the gif initially was. Open the blending options for it, change the mode to screen and lower the opacity. Then we’re going to apply yet another gaussian blur filter, this time with a 2.0 radius. Here we can change the opacity for it, I normally leave it at around 20%. That’s going to open the blending options for the filter. Next you’re going double-click on that little symbol beside the applied filter: Then we’re going to apply a gaussian blur filter ( filter -> blur -> gaussian blur) with a 1.3 radius: (click filter -> sharpen -> smart sharpen)

You’ll need photoshop, topaz (and ideally avi- or vapoursynth) for this :> And you’re done.First i want to say that i’m by no means an expert in photoshop, so there are probably 6.4 million more efficent ways to do what i do, but this works for me so.Now when you save for web make your looping options are saved to “forever!”.If this thing comes up just click “don’t show again” and then hit OK.All the layers should look like this now. With both your frames and layers selected, click on the three line thing with an arrow again and click “Convert to Video Timeline”.

Also, make sure that the size of your gif is 750k or less before you start sharpening.I don’t think it matters really, it looks the same to me. I like to add my psds and text before I sharpen my gifs, you can add it after.
